Silverback Sportswear is a bespoke teamwear provider who's roots started in rugby

1 . Find an animal that represents rugby.

Exotic, unusual, but no discernible connection with rugby.
Intelligent, works well in a team.
Close but missing something...
Powerful, strong, fearsome but mainly solitary.
Closer, but still missing something...
Powerful, strong, intelligent, looks
after family fearlessly. Perfect!

2 . Develop a logo icon which can also be used independently.
Looks like an angry gorilla, but wearing a military helmet...

Simplified the nose and made it wider, but looks like it is smiling and not aggressive.

Adjusted the eyes and improved the hair, but maybe looks too fluffy.

What better way to start than using nature itself. An aggressive gorilla bearing its teeth!

Simplified the shapes and made the teeth more prominent, but looks too skeletal.

Adjusted the eye shape but it looks more 'cool' than aggressive. It looks like it has a bad comb-over!

Simplified the hair.

3 . Choose a bold, clean font that represents the brand.

Hanzel is a bold, simple font with its own unique look. It is also easy to read when in all-caps.

4 . Combine the elements that have been developed.

Both icon and name combined together.

Round ball shape represents a multitude of sports.

Changed ball shape to a slight oval as a subtle nod towards Silvberbacks roots in rugby.

As the brand grew, the name Sportswear was added and a registered trademark included.

Vibrant / Fresh / Innovative

Steel / Strong / Reliable

Din was chosen as the main communication font. Its clean lines and slight industrial feel suited the brand vision.
